Understanding how refunds work with Fareobuddy

Overview

Fareobuddy recognizes that travel plans can often change for any number of reasons, whether they are personal, professional or unexpected. The Fareobuddy Return Policy was created as a way to help customers understand how to return an item and what their options are as well as clearly laying out the refund process. While Fareobuddy is a booking platform, all decisions concerning refunds will be made in accordance with the airline (or supplier) policy for refunds.

Refund Eligibility

Whether or not someone gets a refund for the purchase of a ticket depends on multiple things; every airline sets its own fare rules, and the type of ticket purchased will also determine whether or not the customer receives a refund. Some tickets may be fully refundable, some partially refundable and some non-refundable. Before you book tickets through Fareobuddy, in order to avoid purchasing a discounted fare and subsequently being unable to receive a refund for your cancelled ticket, please be aware of all of the fare rules specified both on this website and on the website of the airline.

How To Apply For A Refund

Refund requests can be submitted to Fareobuddy either by creating a refund request through Fareobuddy or by contacting our customer service team. By providing complete and accurate information, you are helping to speed up your ticket refund request with Fareobuddy. After submitting your refund request, our customer service team will review your refund request and forward it to the respective airline or other service provider.

Refund Processing Time

The amount of time taken for a refund to be processed will vary by airline, payment method and banking processes. Once a refund has been approved, it will take approximately 5 business days following approval for the person receiving a refund to be issued the refund payment. Please keep in mind that additional time may be required to receive a refund payment via U.S. Postal Service. Fareobuddy strives to process refunds as quickly as possible.

Fees and Charges

Fareobuddy may charge a fee to process a user's booking. Typically, fees will not be refundable, unless indicated otherwise. In addition, if an airline has cancelled a booking or charged a fee associated with the processing of a booking, the cancellation / processing fee will be deducted from the total amount refunded to the customer.

Refund policies vary by fare type; travellers should review fare rules prior to purchase to be aware of any restrictions on refunds, and it is recommended that users keep documentation of their original reservation made and payment made should they need to file for a refund.
